La Playa

Orlando Edgardo Ballesteros Acosta

R11

The name of our farm is La Playa (The Shore) due to be close to the Chorobamba river shore. It is at 1,840 meters height. The land is part of the native community Tsachopen where we belong and it is inside the Oxapampa Ashaninka-Yanesha Biosphere. Our district is Chontabamba, province of Oxapamapa and belongs to Pasco region.

In this farm we work on a family environment with my wife and children. With a biodiversity preservation culture, practicing a sustainable agriculture and environmentally friendly.

We grow several coffee varieties as Typica, Pache, Caturra and Catuai, under the shade of some native trees from our beautiful Yanesha culture and some other trees as Pacae, Pine, and Ulcumano.

The last year, 2024, we won a 🥈 second place on our regional coffee quality contest, therefore we are participating now on this 2025 contest willing to make well known our Peruvian coffee.

Currently I proudly belong to the Bio agriculture Yanesha Tsachopen Cooperative.
